Megs Beck Cottage is situated on the perimeter of Chapel Stile in the heart of the Langdale Valley, which encompasses some of the most spectacular scenery in central Lakeland. The position is ideal, secluded but not isolated, on the banks of a stream snuggling against the fells to the North with open views to the South. Every amenity for walking and climbing is to hand - Langdale Pikes, Bowfell, Crinkle Crags etc. or boating and fishing on nearby Grasmere, Windermere or Coniston. The cottage is only a few minutes walk from the village of Chapel Stile where there is a good shop supplying all provisions and a cafe on the upper floor, also the local pub, Wainwrights Inn serving food all day. At the rear of the property is an enclosed garden with small patio area and garden furniture, a garage and ample parking for 2 cars.
Megs Beck Cottage is traditionally furnished throughout, the lounge has comfortable seating for 5 people, TV, DVD player, wifi and open fire in the winter months, with an inset electric fire for summer use. Being an upside down house, views from the lounge and kitchen are fantastic, we could just sit here all day watching the world go by! The kitchen benefits from all the modern conveniences including washing machine, fridge freezer, oven, hob & dishwasher. Downstairs has a twin bedroom and a double bedroom, and the family bathroom with bath, separate shower, sink & w.c. The family bathroom has been completely refitted ready for 2013, and looks amazing we might add. The huge walk-in power shower is superb.
We want our holiday cottages to be a 'home for home'. All the beds are made up ready for you, towels are included so no need to bring those, and shower mats are also provided. Two tea towels and a set of oven gloves/oven cloth will be in the kitchen along with a starter pack that includes: washing up liquid, kitchen roll, toilet roll, basic cleaning products, a bin bag in each bin and a few dishwasher tabs. This is just to 'start you off'; you will need to buy your own once these have run out.
Fire Pack / Logs available to purchase form the Good Life Office.
N.B As off September 2018 Megs Beck no longer allows dogs.
